I’m curious what you understand as self-empathy? I haven’t asked many others in NVC community before how they might describe it and I’d like to connect with your personal experience. Humbly I offer mine.
For me self empathy means choosing deep self-acceptance and love. It is the process of me offering myself precious gentle curiosity and care and accompanying myself into loneliness, fear, grief, joy, gratitude ALL my feelings with respect and patience for the journey of the emotion in my body. It’s metaphorically holding my own hand, feeling the company of myself as a best friend.
