An empathy class in Charlottesville is helping parents and families relate to their little ones better.
The Conscious Discipline Workshop is held at the Neighborhood Child Development Center. It gives adults the skills necessary to manage their own emotions first, before dealing with their children.

“Empathy asks us to address emotions, recognize them, process them, and then move into solutions,” said Sara Andrew, a conscious discipline mentor.
Andrew says when parents gain control of their own emotions first it makes it easier to understand their child’s feeling
