This was the week that empathy triumphed…
It is an inspiring transformation because of the unity that it represents – not just a triumph of love, but of civility, respect, strength and ultimately, empathy…
These triumphs are as inspiring as they are enlightening, but they also point the way to future successes. Consider that almost all issues dividing us can be traced to a failure of empathy.
Our eventual conquest of so many domestic issues in particular – gun control, immigration, public education, race relations, the minimum wage and the treatment of our soldiers and veterans among them – will be directly correlated to our ability to empathize with people who are on the other side of the issue.
