Self-Empathy

Self-Empathy
At times our behaviors keep us from meeting our greatest needs. Say longing for deep connection with others, but afraid of it, so people get pushed away. Then telling yourself no one likes you. Often resulting in depression, loneliness, and self-criticism.

The process of self-empathy can help on clarity about what seems truly wanted and help to behave in ways more likely to meet our shared needs. Self-empathy also encourages focus on desires, rather than on what may seem wrong with others or the self.
