Restorative Communication currently provides two workshops to the public.
1: Restorative Communication Foundation Training (Bookings)
This is a two-day training typically held over a weekend. It is based on the work of Dr Marshall B Rosenberg; a body of work titled by him as ‘Nonviolent Communication’ or ‘Compassionate Communication’. Marshall was a Dr of Psychology who worked with many groundbreaking researchers and thinkers, including Carl Rogers.
Our Restorative Communication Foundation Training presents the core of Marshall’s communication and social change techniques and philosophy in an experiential workshop, often drawing on participants real-life situations.
Workshops in your community may be arranged by contacting us, or you can join one of our scheduled workshops.
We have trained under Marshall himself in his hometown of Albuquerque, and a wide range of trainers he himself endorsed. (sadly, Marshall died in 2015)
2: Restorative Circles
Restorative Circles are a restorative justice process founded by Domonic Barter in the Favelas of Brazil, and now in use around the world. Domonic worked closely with Marshall over a number of years. His work embodies the philosophy and spirituality of Nonviolent Communication and stands independent of it. Restorative Circle facilitators need not have any formal NVC training.
The process itself is deceptively simple, yet astoundingly powerful at healing communities, bridging difference, and building resilient relationships. Children and adults pick it up quite intuitively and often report integrating the process informally into their lives and relationships.
We present this as a single, stand-alone introduction day, followed by two optional days of experiential, simulated practice.
Workshops in your community may be arranged by contacting us, or you can join one of our scheduled workshops.
We have trained under Domonic himself in Germany, and America. Restorative Circles has a temporary, virtual home here.
