Learning Empathy

“It’s a really good idea to bring a baby into the classroom,” said Colette Curtis, the mother of the tiny teacher, Sebastian. “They can’t talk but they can teach the kids so much.”

It’s all part of the Roots of Empathy, a program to help young students learn about empathy and caring not only for babies, but for each other. The mother and child visit the classroom once a month so the students can see how the baby grows and develops throughout the year.
