What could possibly explain when learned people become racist. I think empathy holds the key.
Typically, empathy is defined as “the unique ability of humans to imagine themselves in another’s place and understand the other’s feelings, desires, ideas, and actions”. However, it is also an energy, which can supply us instantly with the knowledge to our consciousness, and help us deal with people in humane way.
When we don’t have empathy, we will not understand others. And, when we can’t understand others, we can only judge them. Be empathetic to you as well as others.
