About Us We are Annika Wachter (26) from Germany and Roberto Gallegos (29) from Mexico. We are founders of Tasting Travels, a project that seeks to promote: Bicycle Travel as a Model to Cultivate Empathy.
We are currently travelling by bicycle and promoting this idea along the way. We would like to share the wonders of bike travel with the world and help other people to plan their own. We do this by writing about our experiences in our blog, posting articles about people, places and their culture in our website and giving live presentations in schools. We are moved by the strong believe that bike travel is an excellent way to cultivate empathy in our world, not only towards human beings but to other living species. We hope you have fun browsing through our site and we will be happy to hear from you. We look forward to receiving your questions and reading your comments. We are at your service.

Cultivating Empathy by Bicycle Travel
So then our idea evolved to promoting bicycle travel as a means to strengthen social empathy. After a year or so with the project, and after more researching and asking specialists, we realized that we could further simplify our mission even more. So after two years and a bit of being pleasantly surprised by the world we live in and the experience we have as bike riders, we decided to entitle our project:
We definitely did not re-invent the wheel or something like that, in fact we found even more and more people cyclists and non-cyclists concerned with the idea of spreading the power of empathy in the world. Just to mention a very few– Doc. Jeremy Rifkin, Doc. Roman Krznaric, our friends at Two Wheel Travel, Edwin Rutsch, Biciclown, Pablo Garcia, World Biking, Travelling Two etc.–all of them, and in their own way, are exploring empathy and sharing it in their websites following their particular vocation. Some of them are renowned scientists and others are regular Joe´s like me with a belief in empathy and its capability to make this world a better place.
